Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) is partnering with The Social Quotient (TSQ) to organise, ‘Mastery of Heart and Mind’ a Youth Mental Health e-Conference targeted at Institutes of Higher Learning in Singapore. The conference, held in conjunction with World Mental Health Day, hopes to raise awareness on the importance of mental health and empower participants with a deeper understanding of fostering early help-seeking behaviours. Topics include an overview of the mental health scene in Singapore, as well as discussions on how to support students with mental health issues, with three tracks in the areas of peer support, special needs and self-harm.
Industry experts will provide insights on the mental health scene in Singapore and discuss how to build mental health resiliency and connection amongst youths. The tracks will cover information on improving youth mental health through peer support, supporting mental well-being of students with special needs, and self-harm and suicide prevention.
The e-library consists of curated resources from various social service agencies, allowing participants to have full access till the end of October 2021. These resources will be beneficial for those working and interacting with youths in their everyday work.
